The Law of Demand and Supply

I am sitting (comfortably in the assurance that "Dios sabe lo que hace") at the airline gate knowing that I've already missed my connecting flight. I am constantly reminded of the truth in that expression; God knows what he does. When I can really understand that, there is genuine peace in it.

Real trust demands obedience. I understand more and more that spiritual freedom isn't freedom to do what I want. Rather it is the freedom to willingly do what Love demands. On its face, the word demand has a certain element of abrasiveness to it. As I consider that more thoroughly, I understand that His demands are less about rigid compliance and more about an invitation to align with the life-giving will of my Creator.

We have become familiar with "law of supply and demand." As supply is diminished, demand increases. If you have any question about this, visit Florida as a hurricane is brewing and see what happens with bottled water and toilet paper. The opposite is often true in our spiritual experience. As we, in faith, respond to what Love demands, supply follows.

We know that God is calling us to build a dairy facility as part of His overall plans in Canchias, Hn. Five weeks ago, we leveled off a place for the dairy barn, before having the money to build on the level spot. There is a group of wonderful folks coming from Nashville to help with this in September but there are things that need to be done prior to that time. As I sit waiting for the rain to pass and planes to start flying again, I'm remembering an unexpected phone call that I got just two days ago, during preparations to fly down this time. Provision. The message ended, saying "We hope this will help you with your new dairy farm project in Honduras." I'm thankful that He goes before I know. I'm thankful that He has new mercies when I have to stop and make myself remember that "God knows what he does," always.
